Research on the Stability of X-Style Arch Bridge Using Asymmetric Cable-Stayed Suspension Method
The large-span steel box X-style arch bridge should ensure the safety of the main structure at the bridge completion and construction stages through appropriate construction techniques, and the stability analyses of steel box-rib arch bridges during the bridge completion and construction stages are of vital importance.Taking a basket-handle arch bridge with steel box rib as the research object, this paper established finite element models for the bridge completion and construction stages, studied the stability coefficients of the bridge under asymmetric cable-stayed suspension construction, and analysed the effects of initial defects and cable failure on the stability of the arch bridge in the most unfavourable state of the non-symmetrical cable cantilever lifting. The results show that:the stability coefficients of arch bridge at the bridge completion stage and construction stage satisfy the specification requirements;at the construction stage, the maximum cantilevering stage of the arch ribs and the removal of cables are most prone to destabilisation, but the failure of a single cable has little influence on the stability of the arch ribs at the maximum cantilevering state;at the bridge completion stage, the initial defects do not have much influence on the first-order stability coefficients when the proportion factor of defects is less than L/1 000.
