New Thoughts on the Construction of Station City Complex Under the Concept of Station-City Integration——A Case Study of the Shenzhen Shantou Hub Station City Complex
In recent years, the rapid development of China's social economy and high-speed railway industry has led to a closer integration between urban development and high-speed railway construction, resulting in the emergence of several integrated high-speed railway passenger transportation hub stations. The station city complex brings new economic development models and changes in life and transportation, but also gives rise to numerous challenges in construction and management, providing deep-seated problems that are difficult to overcome in the short term. This article systematically summarizes the characteristics and historical background of the three modes of station city relationship in the development process of railway hubs, and combines with the practice of the Shenzhen-Shantou hub to deeply explore the important significance of station city complexes for urban development and railway transportation,as well as to analyze some existing problems in station-city integration at the current stage. This paper proposes optimization strategies to foster harmonious coexistence and mutual support between stations and cities with an aim to provide new insights for the development of railway hubs and station-city integration.
