Research on Safety of Approaching Parallel and Down-Traversing Existing Railways in Mined Tunnel
With the large-scale construction of underground mined tunnels, the number of projects involving the approaching parallel crossing of existing railways is increasing, accompanied by elevated construction risks. The construction of new tunnels approaching existing railways can cause disturbances to the surrounding soil, leading to ground loss and track subgrade settlement. Therefore, studying the safety of mined tunnels approaching parallel down-traversing existing railways is crucial for controlling track deformation and ensuring operational safety. This paper is based on a municipal mined tunnel approaching existing railways project.Considering the engineering characteristics, railway safety control standards are determined. Then, through numerical simulation, the impact of two types of approaching situations(parallel and down-traversing)on existing railway deformation is analyzed, followed by a safety assessment. The results indicate that the construction of new mined tunnels has a minimal impact on the existing railway structure, with deformations meeting relevant safety control standards. This provides theoretical support and valuable guidance for practical engineering construction.
