Study on the Influence of Rail Temperature on Ultrasonic Guided Wave Detection for Switch Rail Damage
The switch rail is an important infrastructure in railway line,so it is very important to carry out non-destructive testing on the switch rail.Because the ambient temperature causes the change of the temperature of the switch rail, the guided wave reference signal collected at a certain temperature point can not meet the needs of the switch rail detection at all temperatures. Therefore, the influence of rail temperature on ultrasonic guided wave detection of switch rail must be considered when conducting ultrasonic guided wave nondestructive testing of switch rail.Through theoretical analysis and temperature test, the general rule of temperature affecting guided wave propagation is obtained, and the linear relation is fitted.Subsequently, field experiments were carried out to verify the effect of temperature compensation. The results show that after temperature compensation, the locating accuracy of switch rail damage is greatly improved. The research results can provide reference for temperature compensation of guided wave signal.
