Experimental Study on the Mechanical Properties of Soil-Cement Under the Influence of Chemical Corrosion
Taking soil-cement as the research object, this paper studies the evolution law of mechanical and physical properties of soil-cement under variable alkaline and salt environment, and elucidates its deterioration mechanism. The results show that with the increase of solution concentration, the liquid limit, plastic limit and plastic index of soil-cement after soaking in alkaline solution for 7 days show an increasing trend. On the contrary, with the increase of solution concentration in saline solution, these indexes of soil-cement after soaking for 7 days show a downward trend. It is also observed that the compressive strength of soil-cement will increase with the increase of soaking time under the same concentration of the alkaline solution and saline solution. However, when the soaking time remains unchanged, increasing the concentration of the solution will lead to a gradual decline in the compressive strength of soil-cement.When soil-cement was soaked in sodium hydroxide solution for 21 days, its strength began to decline. Therefore,in order to ensure that soil-cement can still meet the engineering strength requirements when attacked by sodium hydroxide solution, corresponding measures are usually needed.
