On the Symbiotic Relationship and Collaborative Construction of the Chinese National Spirit and the Communal Consciousness in the Context of Chinese Style Modernization
General Secretary Xi Jinping expanded the four histories into five ones in his report to the 20th National Congress of the CPC,emphasizing the importance of learning the developmental history of the Chinese nation to the construction of the spiritual civilization of Chinese-style modernization.The Chinese national spirit has been underpinning the entire history of the development of the Chinese nation and has been condensed and sublimated into a communal consciousness of the Chinese nation in the great historical practice.This communal consciousness of the Chinese nation encompasses the notions of"unity and coherence","national reunification,and"ethnic unity",and has in the Chinese national spirit its historical origin,ideological foundation,and cultural basis that make it sustain.So the communal consciousness of the Chinese nation is a derived theme and era characteristic of the Chinese national spirit.This communal consciousness needs to be collaboratively constructed through the"struggle and cohesion"approach guided by the"great spirit of struggles",through the"diplomacy and cooperation"approach guided by the"building of a community with a shared future for mankind",through the"economy and convergence"approach guided by the"common prosperity for all",through the"culture and congruity"approach guided by the"enrichment of people's spiritual world",as well as through the"ecological harmony"approach guided by the"harmonious coexistence between man and nature".Only in this way can the national spirit and the communal consciousness of the nation be coordinated and constructed collaboratively.
