Exploration and Practice of Chinese Education in Southeast Asia from the Perspective of the Belt and Road Initiative——A Case Study of Chinese Education to International Students at Xi'an University
Chinese education in Southeast Asia has a long history, with each country having its own characteristics while sharing commonalities in its development path. With the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI),countries such as Thailand, the Philippines,Indonesia, and Vietnam have,in the past decade, incorporated Chinese language teaching into their national education systems and encouraged schools to actively conduct Chinese language teaching, promoting the spread of Chinese language.Seizing this opportunity,Xi'an University has clarified its educational positioning, focusing on meeting the needs of national and regional development. It has expanded its scale of foreign student education in Southeast Asia and improved the level of education for foreign students.Degree education carried out by Xi'an University organically integrates the training at the local universities with the training at home in China, and provides support to the cultivation and development of young talents of Chinese language for Southeast Asian countries. It thus opens a new model of cultivating Chinese language talents in the new era.
