Research on Improving Efficiency of Bidirectional Marshalling Stations Based on Improved Facility Configuration
The marshalling station is the core station of the hub area and the support point of the road network transportation. The completeness of its facilities is an essential condition to meet the needs of traffic operations. The operation efficiency of the marshalling station affects not only the station itself but also the matching of transportation capacity among stations, lines, and road networks.Taking bidirectional marshalling stations as the object, this paper analyzed the difficulties of traditional three-level seven-yard marshalling stations in organizing traffic flow organization efficiency in terms of angular traffic flow exchange, train connection, and passing capacity by considering factors such as complex directional traffic flow,high-density traffic, and mutual interference caused by multiple operations simultaneously. The results show that with the rapid development trend of growing railway freight traffic flows and more complicated traffic flow structure, the idea of improving facilities should not be limited to expanding the scale of marshalling station.Instead, the facilities in various stations and lines of the hub and those in the marshalling station should be regarded as a whole to smooth their operation connections, achieve balanced transportation and parallel operations in the hub area as a whole, and ensure the effect of matching the transportation capacity of stations, lines, and road network.
