Objective:To explore the application of dermoscopy in children's insect-related skin diseases. Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed on clinical and dermoscopic data from 29 cases of lice infestation,116 cases of tick bites,66 cases of scabies, and 30 cases of bee stings diagnosed and treated in our department from August 2019 to February 2023.Results:In 29 cases of pediculosis,16 cases were found to have nits under the dermoscopy,8 cases had both nits and adult lice observed on the hair, and 5 cases were diagnosed based on the observation of adult removed by the parents from the hair.In cases of tick bites, two types of skin lesions with residual mouthparts could be observed under the dermoscopy one type was a brown"eight"-shaped pigment deposition structure visible inside the skin, which belongs to suspicious residual, the other type was a pair of protruding antennae-like structures on the skin surface, clarifying residual. In 66 cases of scabies, tunnel signs and triangle signs were found in all 61 cases under the dermoscopy.Dermoscopy could also be used to assist in observing whether there was a bee sting residue in the skin after a bee sting injury. Conclusion:Dermoscopy has significant advantages in the accurate diagnosis and treatment of lice infestation, tick bites, scabies, and bee sting wounds in children. It can improve the diagnosis rate of doctors and is non-invasive and safe for children.
