Objective:To understand the status of human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)self-testing willingness/behavior and its influencing factors among young students in Yangzhou. Methods:The students were recruited by random sampling in 9 secondary specialized schools and colleges in Yangzhou.General demographic information, knowledge of AIDS prevention, sexual behavior history,self-rated risk of HIV infection,AIDS-related behavior,HIV self-testing willingness and behavior among young students were collected by questionnaires. The multivariate Logistic regression model was applied to analyze the HIV self-testing willingness/behavior and its influencing factors among young students. Results:A total of 4 593 questionnaires were included in the final analysis. The rates of HIV self-testing willingness and behavior were 87.7%and 5.1%respectively.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis on HIV self-testing willingness showed that people who were female(OR=1.26,P=0.018),held household registration in Jiangsu province(OR=1.41,P<0.001)and bachelor's degree or above(OR=1.40,P=0.001),received sexual education in school(OR=1.28,P=0.008),had knowledge of AIDS prevention(OR=1.60,P<0.001)and self-rated risk of HIV infection(OR=1.79,P<0.001),had higher willingness of HIV self-testing.Multivariate Logistic regression on HIV self-testing behavior showed that older age was associated with higher probability of HIV self-testing(OR=1.16,P=0.009),and that people who held household registration in Jiangsu province(OR=1.83,P<0.001),received sexual education in school(OR=1.37,P=0.028)and had sexual experience(OR=3.14,P<0.001)had higher rate of HIV self-testing,while the female had lower HIV self-testing rate than the male(OR=0.52,P<0.001).Conclusion:HIV self-testing rate among young students in Yangzhou is low.It is necessary to strengthen AIDS publicity for students who are female, younger or coming from other provinces, and HIV self-testing in school should be promoted.
