Objective:To explore the mediating effect of self-efficacy between type D personality and physical activity in patients after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).Methods:Using a general information questionnaire, the type D personality scale, the cardiac exercise self-efficacy instrument, and the international physical activities questionnaire,328 post-PCI patients who were hospitalized for review in the cardiovascular medicine departments of three tertiary hospitals in Guangdong Province were investigated between November 2021 and October 2022.The SPSS 27.0 software and PROCESS plug-in were used to analyze mediating effects. Results:Following PCI,patients'energy consumption from physical activity was 1 194.00(621.00,2 112.75)MET-min/w;The total score of type D personality was(19.72±6.34),the percentage of patients with type D personality was 32.6%(107)and the percentage of non-type D personality was 67.4%(221).The total score of self-efficacy was(47.70±8.12).The type D personality was negatively correlated with physical activity and self-efficacy(rs=-0.296,-0.275,P<0.001),while physical activity was positively correlated with self-efficacy(rs=0.579,P<0.001).Self-efficacy played a partial mediating effect between type D personality and physical activity. The mediating effect value was-0.171,accounting for 41.8%of the total effect. Conclusion:Type D personality can affect the physical activity of the patients directly and indirectly after PCI through self-efficacy.
