A network Meta-analysis of the effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine nursing techniques on postoperative urinary retention of mixed hemorrhoids
Objective:To evaluate the intervention effects of different traditional Chinese medicine nursing techniques on urinary retention after mixed hemorrhoid surgery by using network Meta-analysis,which can provide a reference for clinical nursing practice. Methods:Randomized controlled trials on the application of traditional Chinese medicine nursing techniques for urinary retention after mixed hemorrhoid surgery were searched in PubMed,Embase,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,Wanfang,VIP,SinoMed,and China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI).The search period was from the inception of the databases to January 2024.Data analysis was conducted using Stata 17.0 software. Results:A total of 32 articles involving 3 415 patients and 13 interventions were included. For reducing the occurrence rate of postoperative urinary retention after mixed hemorrhoid surgery,5 optimal intervention measures were selected, which were in order:hot medicinal compress therapy combined with auricular plaster therapy, hot medicinal compress therapy combined with moxibustion, hot medicinal compress therapy combined with acupoint massage, acupoint massage combined with moxibustion, auricular plaster therapy combined with moxibustion. In terms of the effective rate of treating postoperative urinary retention, the top 5 intervention measures were auricular plaster therapy, hot medicinal compress therapy, acupoint application combined with moxibustion, moxibustion, hot medicinal compress therapy combined with moxibustion. Conclusion:Current evidence indicates that the intervention effects of traditional Chinese medicine nursing technology on postoperative urinary retention after mixed hemorrhoids operation are significantly better than those of conventional treatment measures. For the prevention of postoperative urinary retention, hot medicinal compress therapy combined with auricular plaster therapy is recommended, while auricular point sticking alone is suitable for the treatment of postoperative urinary retention. However, there are certain limitations in this study, and the conclusion remains to be further verified.
