The Universality and Chineseness in Writing the Principles of Political Science
The principles refer to the most basic laws or truths of universal significance in a certain field,sector or science,and the concepts that reveal the reasons behind the phenomena of things,which are univer-sal,fundamental and original.They provide the basic framework and rationale for the explanation of the phe-nomena concerned.Politics is a universal social phenomenon of mankind.Political science,as an independent discipline,has its basic principles which are universal in nature.Marxist political doctrine reveals the basic laws of political development of mankind with universal value.However,political science,as an imported dis-cipline,was inevitably influenced by Western doctrines when introduced,of which a considerable part is based on Western factual phenomena or proposed from the Western perspective,and does not have universali-ty.With the advancement of Chinese modernization,China's factual phenomena require updating the original knowledge map,extracting of general principles,and then rewriting political science.
