International strategic studies of outer space in China currently faces an urgent objective demand,coupled with a significant shortfall in effective supply,leading to what can be termed a"research deficit".The establishment of Country and Area Studies as a primary discipline within interdisciplinary fields offers valuable insights for enhancing international strategic studies of outer space.Country and Area Studies create new conditions for the systematic integration of this re-search,allowing for enhanced subjectivity,interdisciplinary connections,improved applicability,and a clearer articula-tion of its value and mission.Conversely,international strategic studies of outer space can also facilitate the expansion of research objects within Country and Area Studies,promote methodological interactions,and help realize disciplinary val-ue,thereby contributing to the advancement of Country and Area Studies as an academic discipline.International strategic studies of outer space share a significant mutual empowerment relationship with Country and Area Studies.It is suggested to develop a systematically integrated research agenda for international strategic studies of outer space within the frame-work of Country and Area Studies in the future.
