Research on Rural-Household Differentiation and Land Transfer Based on the Stability of Non-Agricultural Employment
Land transfer is the basis for developing various forms of moderate-scale farming.Taking the village in W County,Henan Province as an example, this study employs the method of questionnaire survey and participant observa-tion to examine the relationship between rural-household differentiation and land transfer from a sociological perspective and through the lens of rural-household differentiation. It also analyzes the reasons behind the relative stability and ratio-nality of land transfer at the current stage. This study draws conclusion that rural-household differentiation has a positive impact on farmers'land transfer behavior. The higher the degree of rural-household differentiation, the more likely they are to transfer out their land.Additionally, the non-agricultural employment stability is a key variable in determining whether farmers transfer out their land.Based on the conclusion,it is believed that farmers will choose to transfer out their land only when the process of differentiation has reached a certain level and non-agricultural labor has been transferred out of the household. It is also found that the probability of stable non-agricultural part-time farmers transferring out their land is higher than that of unstable non-agricultural part-time farmers, and accordingly, relevant suggestions are put forward.
