The principal investigator(PI)system is a management mode that has emerged in response to the global trend of technological innovation development.Based on the characteristics of this mode and combined with the current management and development status of basic research institutions in the field of oncology,this paper analyzes and sorts out the years of experience in the PI management system in Tianjin Cancer Research Institute,and elaborates on the reasonable structure of scientific research management,the innovation of scientific research management system,and reflection of scientific research management achievements,in order to provide reference for the development of scientific and technological innovation management system in domestic scientific research institutions.
