A series of severe natural disasters caused by the greenhouse effect have become an urgent global problem to be solved. In this context, the General Secretary XI Jinping proposed a target at the 75th session of United Nations General Assembly, which is"Reaching the carbon peaking by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060".Seaweed farms have the advantages of high coverage area and powerful carbon sequestration capacity so that they play an important role in China's"Blue Carbon"strategy. The effects of environmental changes(ocean warming, ocean acidification, ocean eutrophication and the darkening of nearshore)on the capacity of carbon sequestration in seaweed farms are summarized to provide reference value for evaluating and even improving the capacity of carbon sequestration in seaweed farms, and provide support for the realistic goal of"carbon neutrality".
