Sixty gastropyretic steam-type periodontitis patients are selected and randomly divided into a test group(treated with Qingwei Huanglian pills on the basis of the control group)and a control group(treated with periodontal initial therapy)to discuss clinical effect of combined traditional Chinese and Western medicine in treatment of gastropyretic steam-type periodontitis.The variations of plaque index(PLI),periodontal probing depth(PD),bleeding index(BI)are compared between the two groups before and after treatment.In addition,the degrees of pain during the treatment between the two groups are compared.The PLI,PD and BI in the two groups are decreased significantly after treatment(P＜0.05),but there is a significant difference in comparison between BI groups.Visual analogue scale(VAS)in test group is decreased significantly compared with the control group(P＜0.05).Qingwei Huanglian pills combined with periodontal initial therapy can improve the PLI and BI,and relieve the pain during treatment.Qingwei Huanglian pills is effective as a supplementary means in periodontal initial therapy.
