Expansion from STS to STSE:A New Dynamic in Study of Philosophy of Science and Technology
With the increasing impact of science and technology on the environment and the growing prominence of environmental problems in social development,many problems in the field of STS need to be considered from the ecological dimension.In the past STS research,although it involves certain ecological environment content,it has not yet fully emphasized its importance and independence.By analyzing the current trends of domestic and international STS research,especially the part involving the ecological environment,STS research shows a tendency of expanding towards Science,Technology,Society and Environment(STSE)research.In this expansion,the ecological environment is regarded as an independent element,which brings a new dimension of understanding to the original STS research and establishes a new system of"science-technology-society-environment".Attention to these research developments is of some significance to the philosophy of science and technology and related fields.
