Study on Impact of Chemical Phosphorous Removal Mode on Biological Phosphorous Removal in WWTPs
Based on the simulation experiment of anaerobic phosphorus release from activated sludge in the biological section of sewage treatment plants and the analysis of PO43--P migration and transformation throughout the entire process, the biological phosphorus removal in urban sewage treatment plants using synchronous chemical phosphorus removal and post-chemical phosphorus removal was studied. The results show that simultaneous chemical phosphorous removal process will weaken biological phosphorous removal to a certain extent, and the more the chemical agents are added, the greater the impact, even the biological phosphorus removal function will be completely lost.Post-chemical phosphorous removal process has no impact on the biological phosphorus removal function and can save the amount of chemicals used. The activated sludge system with biological phosphorus removal capacity is more conducive to the realization of denitrifying phosphorus removal in the anoxic section, and reduces the construction and operation costs.
