Determination of Volatile Organic Compounds in Water by Purge and Capture/Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry
27 volatile organic compounds in drinking water were determined by purge and capture/gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.25 mL of drinking water samples were purged, captured, enriched, purified, and analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The results show that the linear correlation coefficientr of the working curves of each component is not less than 0.995 within the linear range of 0.40-40 μg/L(m-xylene and p-xylene:0.80-80 μg/L).After spiking with two mass concentration levels of 0.40 μg/L and 32.00 μg/L,the recovery rate is 73.0%-109%with the relative standard deviation of 0.3%-9.6%for seven determinations. The lower limit of determination is 0.015 μg/L-0.220 μg/L.This method has the advantages of simple treatment operation, strong stability, sensitive and accurate determination, and can meet the needs of qualitative and quantitative analysis of volatile organic compounds in drinking water.
