Research on Effect of Different Scale Defects on Mechanical Properties of Insulating Composites in Superconducting Coil
The insulation system plays a role in insulating, fixing and supporting the superconducting coil.Extreme environmental conditions such as extremely low temperature, large current and high magnetic field makes the superconducting coil withstand greater stress and strain, which puts forward higher requirements for the mechanical properties of insulation system.Taking the insulation system in superconducting coil as the research object, the mechanical properties of insulating composites with defects of different scales at low temperature were tested. The results show that the defects such as voids or slag inclusions with a diameter of less than 3 mm have little effect on the mechanical properties of the insulating composites, which has reference value for evaluating the quality of insulation system in superconducting coils.
