On Mao Zedong's Implicit Criteria of Literary and Art Criticism
Mao Zedong's criteria of literary and art criticism can be examined from two angles,one is the cri-teria of literary and art criticism which he clearly put forward as a standard,the other is the criteria of criti-cism which is implicit in his literary thought.The former can be called explicit criteria and the latter can be called implicit criteria.Mao Zedong's implicit criteria of literary and art criticism is rich in connotation,but the three most important ones are people's character and historical progress,the nationality,and the peo-ple's view of language.Exploring Mao Zedong's implicit criteria of literary and art criticism will help us to understand the position and function of Mao Zedong literary and artistic thought in literary theory and lit-erary creation with Chinese characteristics.
