Social Solidarity in the Era of Uncertainty——Reflection on"Neo-Tribalism"and"Community"
The world is in an unprecedented state of uncertainty and insecurity. This unpredictable uncer-tainty and the resulting fear of the future have sparked prevalent phenomena such as"back to Hobbes""back to the tribe",and"back to the womb".Bauman and Maffesoli's elaboration, based on the tribal"community"and the"social instinct"rooted in vitality theory and redundant myths, provide new perspec-tives and inspiration for us to delve into the internal tensions of"neo-tribalism"in the era of uncertainty,as well as the various"division"and"isolation"brought by various identity discourses. To break down the barriers between"us"and"them"erected by culture and cultural identity, the reasons behind it should be realized and dialogue needs to shift from"high politics"to"everyday proximity",fostering genuine social solidarity in the era of uncertainty.
