Research on the Design and Application of Process Evaluation in Primary School Science Classroom—Taking the Unit of Heat Transfer in Grade 5 of Su Jiao Press as an Example
Process evaluation is an assessment approach that emphasizes both goals and out-comes,highlighting students'thinking and understanding during the learning process. It supports students'autonomous and collaborative learning, promoting their comprehensive development.In-tegrating process evaluation into science teaching is essential for its effectiveness.By analyzing the definition and purpose of process evaluation,as well as the implications of theories on evaluation to promote learning and feedback theory for process evaluation, key points of process evaluation have been summarized.Combining insights from literature reviews and the process evaluation methods outlined in the"Compulsory Education Science Curriculum Standards,"five major sta-ges of process evaluation are proposed. To verify the effectiveness of process evaluation, this study implements a process assessment plan using the fifth-grade unit"Heat Transfer"from the Su-Jiao Edition curriculum as an example. The research findings indicate that this plan enhances students'understanding of knowledge concepts. Therefore, the process evaluation plan has a posi-tive impact on student learning.During the implementation process, attention should be given to instructional design, clarifying the intended goals of each activity and question, fostering students'evaluative abilities, and simultaneously improving teachers.
