An Exploration on Development-oriented Ohio Teacher Evaluation System 2.0
Promoting the professional development of primary and secondary school teachers through the establishment of a scientific and effective evaluation system is the mainstream trend of international teacher evaluation reform.United States Ohio has developed the Teacher Evaluation System 2.0 based on teacher professional growth in response to the requirements of relevant feder-al and state government acts.This system provides differentiated evaluation components for pri-mary and secondary school teachers at different stages of professional growth.At the same time,in order to ensure the authenticity of the evaluation results,the corresponding evaluation tools and indicators were developed according to the Ohio Teaching Professional Standards,and the imple-mentation steps of the evaluation were carefully designed.Through the systematic combing of the relevant contents of the Ohio teacher evaluation system,it is found that it has the main character-istics of evaluation purpose to serve teachers'professional growth,evaluation content that in-tegrates refinement and highlights key points,procedural and flexible evaluation steps,evidence-based evaluation results,low stakes in the use of evaluation results,and emphasis on feedback,which provides useful experience for teacher evaluation in the new era.
