It is said the state translation studies(STS)as a new discipline is to study state translation practices.Its core concept is that translation is characterized by stateness,that is,there is an inherent connection between translation and a state.However,translation covers all knowledge in the form of translation both from Chinese to foreign languages and form foreign languages into Chinese,undertaken by both in-dividuals and governments.The STS only refers to the translation organized by a gov-ernment action,concerning political translation and translation from Chinese to foreign languages.Hence,state translation is a vague concept.It also lacks inter-disciplines as state is not a discipline.Furthermore,it does not have its own independent theories and methods.
