The Role of Exosome from Different Tissues in the Development of NAFLD
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is a chronic liver disease affected by a variety of extra-hepatic or-gans.Until now, there is no effective treatment for NAFLD,which seriously threatens health of all mankind. The pathogenesis of NAFLD is very complex and has not been fully elucidated.Recent studies have revealed that exosomes play a crucial role in glucose and lipid metabolism, inflammatory response and development of chronic fibrosis of liver.Exosomes are gradually con-sidered as novel key signal regulator in the occurrence and development of NAFLD.As a signal carrier of multicellular origin, exosomes from different cells or tissues play different roles in the pathological development of NAFLD.In this study, the role of exosomes from different cells or tissues in the pathogenesis of NAFLD was discussed, which provides a new therapeutic direc-tion for clinical treatment of NAFLD in the future.
