Analysis of adverse drug reactions in senile patients with chronic diseases in our hospital
Objective:To explore the characteristics of adverse drug reactions(ADR)in elderly patients with chronic diseases at our hospital and provide a reference for ensuring the safety of drug use. Methods:The ADR report information of 358 elderly patients with chronic diseases reported to the national ADR monitoring system in our hospital from January 2018 to September 2023 was retrieved and screened, and the drug dosage forms, route of administration, species distribution, and organ/system damage involved in ADR were summarized and statistically analyzed. Results:In the ADR reports of 358 elderly patients with chronic diseases, the most common drug dosage form was injection(161 cases,44.97%);The main administration route of ADR was intravenous infusion(211 cases 58.94%),followed by oral administration(116 cases,32.40%).Anti-infectious drugs(94 cases,26.26%),metabolic and endocrine system drugs(66 cases,18.44%),and cardiovascular system drugs(59 cases,16.48%)were mainly involved. It mainly involved the skin and accessory system(97 cases,27.09%)and the digestive system(95 cases,26.54%).A total of five cases(1.40%)of severe ADR occurred, and all of them improved after anti-allergic,vasopressor,and oxygen support treatments. Conclusions:The occurrence of ADR in elderly patients with chronic diseases is related to drug dosage form, routeof administration, drugtype, and other factors. In clinical practice,it is necessary to improve the ability of medical staff to identify and handle ADR,strengthen drug monitoring in elderly patients, reduce the incidence of ADR,and ensure the safety of drug use.
