Innovative Application of Comprehensive Karst Survey Technology in Urban Rail Transit Tunnel
It is crucial to accurately determine the degree and characteristics of karst development in the tunnel body area in order to control the geological risks during the construction process of urban rail transit projects in karst developed areas. If drilling is carried out outside the tunnel structure line, there are shortcomings such as the inability to accurately identify karst within the tunnel area.In response to this issue, taking the section tunnel of the Phase I project of Guiyang Urban Rail Transit Line 3 as an example, based on the development characteristics of karst at different plane positions and depths, engineering geological surveys were conducted to obtain relevant survey data.Ground geophysical methods such as ground penetrating radar, micro motion, and high-precision transient electromagnetic were used to gradually delineate the key areas of karst development, and then verified by drilling at the centerline position of the tunnel,in-situ testing and indoor testing were conducted on the filling material of the karst cave, and finally cross hole CT and tube wave testing using drilling was conducted. The survey results indicate that 197 karst areas are developed,of which 34 are consistent with the karst caves exposed by drilling, and 70%of the cave diameters are less than 2 meters, and 94%of the karst caves are distributed above the depth of the bottom plate of which 29%are distributed within the range of the tunnel body.More than 55%of the boreholes exposed karst caves are of unfilled type. This karst survey has identified the types and forms of karst, the spatial distribution characteristics of karst, the relationship between karst and tunnel structure, and the filling situation of karst caves, providing detailed and accurate geological data for the design and construction of the project.
