Determination of Timing for Temporary Speed Restriction for Train Control on High Speed Railways and Relevant Safety Measures
Based on the temporary speed restriction system for high speed railways,as well as existing relevant standards and documents, this paper carries out in-depth analysis of the safety risks associated with the settings of temporary speed restrictions for train control. In response to the safety risks posed by improper time setting of temporary speed restrictions, which may lead to EMU trains exceeding speed limits in restricted zones,as well as potential wheel wear or wheel burn caused by the ATP system's application of emergency braking, this study employs simulation calculations to determine the stopping distances of the primary models of EMUs and establishes the optimal timing for the implementation of temporary speed restriction for train control based on these findings. In conjunction with the operational practices of China Railway Nanchang Group Co.,Ltd.,this study proposes an operational workflow for EMU drivers under temporary speed restrictions and offers specific and practical recommendations that can be promoted and implemented, focusing on aspects such as preventing the omission of speed restriction instructions, controlling the speed during the process, and preventing the transfer of missed speed restriction information in subsequent operations.
