Visualisation and analysis of domestic and abroad studies related to hospital infection care based on CiteSpace
Objective The problem of hospital infection is related to the quality of medical care and the safety of doctors and patients in hospitals, this paper discusses the development status, research hotspots and trends of hospital infection care-related research at home and abroad, and provides a reference basis for conducting future research. Methods A computer-based search was conducted from 1 January 2010 to 31 December 2022 for relevant literature on hospital infection care, including Chinese databases such as China Knowledge Network(CNKI),China Biomedical Literature Database(CBM),Wanfang Database, and Wipu Database, and the English-language search was conducted for the Web of Science(WOS)database, and CiteSpace software was used to analyse the yearly publications.CiteSpace software to visualise and analyse features such as annual publication volume, author collaboration, institutional collaboration, keywords, and emergent words. Results 2508 articles were finally included,942 articles in Chinese and 1566 articles in English were included. The number of articles published in the domestic hospital infection nursing literature showed a decreasing trend, and the number of articles published in foreign studies was opposite to that of the domestic ones;the domestic high-frequency keywords mainly included risk factors, nursing interventions, hand hygiene, and so on,and the foreign high-frequency keywords were consistent except for ICU;the visual analysis showed that there were more co-operation between authors and research institutions in the English literature than that in the Chinese literature, and there were 6 core authors in the domestic literature, and 12 core authors in the foreign literature. The main issuing institution in Chinese is the Affiliated Hospital of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and in English is Columbia University. Conclusion Effective control of hospital-acquired infections, strengthening infection quality management, evaluating and identifying hospital-acquired infections risk points, targeting risk interventions and continuously evaluating and tracking them, and focusing on the prevention and control of hospital-acquired infections among nursing staff are of great significance to ensure patient safety and improve the quality of nursing care, and future research should take evidence-based measures to reduce hospital-acquired infections for nursing-related high-risk factors.
