Objective To investigate the effects of IKAP based continuous nursing on urinary control function and quality of life in prostate cancer postoperation elderly patients. Methods A total of 120 patients who underwent robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy from May to October 2022 were selected as the study objects.According to the principle of comparability of basic characteristics between groups, they were divided into control group and observation group, with 60 cases in each group. The control group received routine continuity care, while the observation group received continuity care based on IKAP theory. The changes of urinary control function recovery,Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA)and Quality of Life Core Scale(QLQ-C30)before and 1 month after operation were compared between the two groups. Results The function of urine control in observation group was better than that in control group one month after operation, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in HAMA scores between the two groups of patients before surgery(P>0.05),The HAMA score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group one month after surgery, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before surgery, there was no statistically significant difference in QLQ-C30 scores between the two groups of patients(P>0.05);One month after surgery, the overall health status, physical function, role function, emotional function, cognitive function, and social function scores of QLQ-C30 in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05);The scores of fatigue, pain, insomnia, and lack of appetite in the control group were lower, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Continuous nursing based on IKAP theory significantly improved the urinary control function of patients, promoted the mental health of patients, and improved the postoperation quality of life.
