Effect of sleep deprivation nursing intervention on the quality of life of patients in the intensive care unit of cardiology
Objective To explore the effect of sleep deprivation intervention on negative emotions, sleep quality, and quality of life in patients in the cardiology intensive care unit, aiming to provide reference for treatment measures for patients in the cardiology intensive care unit. Methods A total of 88 patients treated in the intensive care unit of the hospital's cardiology department from March 2020 to April 2022 were selected as the research and analysis objects.According to the principle of comparability of basic data between groups, patients were divided into an observation group and a control group, with 44 cases in each group.During the treatment period, the control group received routine cardiology nursing interventions, while the observation group received sleep deprivation nursing interventions in addition to the control group. The changes in negative emotions[self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)and self-rating depression scale(SDS)],sleep quality[sleep quality scale(VSH)],and quality of life[quality of life scale(MOS)]of two groups of patients before and after the implementation of corresponding nursing plans were compared and analyzed. Results There was no statistically significant difference in the SAS and SDS scores between the two groups of patients before nursing interv entioni(P>0.05).After nursing intervention, the SAS and SDS scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in VSH scores between the two groups of patients before nursing intervention, including sleep interruption, sleep tossing and turning, sleep latency, sleep depth, degree of rest reached,wake-up mode, and subjective sleep quality scores(P>0.05).After nursing intervention, the each item scores of VSH scale in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the social function, health status, and emotional function scores between the two groups of patients before nursing intervention(P>0.05).After nursing intervention, the observation group had higher scores in the MOS scale than the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion In the treatment process of patients in the intensive care unit of cardiology, implementing sleep deprivation nursing intervention on the basis of routine cardiology nursing can effectively promote greater improvement in the patient's psychological state, promote better sleep quality, and help patients improve their quality of life.
