Clinical effect of applying homemade cold packs in patients with limb and multi-site fractures
Objective To observe the clinical effect of applying homemade cold compress bags in patients with limb and multi-part fractures. Methods 60 cases of patients with limb and multi-part fractures admitted to the hospital from June 2019 to June 2021 were selected as the study object, they were divided into a control group and an observation group in accordance with the principle that the basic characteristics of the groups were comparable, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was given conventional cold compress intervention, the observation group was given homemade cold compress bag for cold compress intervention, comparing the Visual Analog Scale(VAS)and swelling grading of the two groups before and after 12 h,24 h,48 h,and 72 h of cold compress,to statistically analyzing the symptom disappearance time of pain and swelling,inflammation-related complications and the occurrence of adverse reactions to cold compress. Results The VAS scores of patients in the two groups gradually decreased from before to 72 h after cold application, the differences between time points were statistically significant(P<0.05),the VAS scores of each time point after cold application were lower than those of the control group.VAS scores were lower in the observation group than in the control group, and the difference between the groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The difference between the VAS scores of the two groups gradually increased after cold application, reached the maximum at 48 h,and then the difference between the groups gradually decreased with the prolongation of the observation time(P<0.05),and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The serum dopamine, norepinephrine and cortisol of patients in the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The swelling grades of patients in the two groups before to 72 h after cold application showed a trend of gradual decrease, and the difference between time points was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the swelling grades of each time point after cold application were lower in the observation group than in the control group, and the difference between groups was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the difference between the VAS scores of the two groups gradually increased after cold application, and the difference reached the maximum at 48 h,and then gradually narrowed down and gradually decreased with the prolongation of observation time(P<0.05),and the difference between groups gradually decreased(P<0.05).The difference between the two groups gradually decreased(P<0.05).the time for the disappearance of pain symptoms and swelling symptoms was shorter than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of inflammation-related complications in patients in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions to cold compresses in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion The clinical application of homemade cold compress bag in limb and multi-site fracture is effective, which can more effectively relieve the pain and swelling symptoms of patients, promote the disappearance of their discomfort symptoms, effectively reduce inflammatory exudation, reduce the risk of complications, and the safety of cold compress is good.
