Effects of transitional care combined with psychological intervention on early clinical outcomes and quality of life of lumbar intervertebral disc herniation disease patients
Objective To explore the effects of transitional care combined with psychological intervention on postoperative complications, pain level and quality of life of patients with lumbar intervertebral disc herniation. Methods 63 cases of lumbar intervertebral disc herniation patients admitted to the hospital from January 2020 to January 2022 were selected as the research object, they were divided into 31 cases of the control group and 32 cases of the observation group according to the principle of the comparability of the basic data between the groups.During the perioperative period, the control group received conventional nursing care, and the observation group received transitional nursing care combined with psychological intervention on the basis of the control group. The Visual Pain Analog Scale(VAS)was used to assess the pain level of patients in both groups at preoperative,24 h postoperative and 1 month postoperative follow-up.Meanwhile,the Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)was used to assess the patients'functional status at preoperative,24 h postoperative and 1 month postoperative follow-up.At 1 week postoperatively and 1 month postoperatively, patients'preoperative anxiety levels and telephone follow-up anxiety levels were assessed using the SAS scale. The quality of life of patients in both groups was assessed using the Euro Five Dimensions Questionnaire(EQ-5D-3L)at the 1 month follow-up.Results The results showed that ODI and VAS scores tended to decrease in the preoperative period compared with the postoperative period in both groups, with statistically significant differences between times(P<0.05),and the differences in group and interaction effects were not significant(P>0.05);in post hoc comparisons,ODI and VAS scores in the observation group were lower than those of the control group at all points after the operation, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).SAS scores showed a decreasing trend at follow-up,and the difference between times was statistically significant(P<0.05);at all postoperative time points, the observation group was lower than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),and in the results of EQ-5D-3L health description system, all five dimensions of the observation group were better than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Transitional care combined with psychological intervention in perioperative care of patients with lumbar disc herniation can improve the degree of pain, release anxiety and improve the quality of life, which is of great clinical significance for improving the recovery of patients with lumbar disc herniation.
