Effect of inclusive leadership of nursing managers on voice behavior and innovative behavior of department nurses
Objective To explore the effect of inclusive leadership of nursing managers on the voice behavior and innovative behavior of department nurses,and to examine the mediating role of voice behavior.Methods A total of 568 surgical nurses from 2 tertiary-level public hospitals from December 2021 to March 2022 were selected for investigation,and inclusive leadership scale(ILS),nurse innovation behavior scale(NIBS)and advisory behavior scale(ABS)were used to conduct questionnaire surveys.SPSS 20.0 statistical software was used to test the relationship between variables through Pearson correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis.Results The average score of inclusive leadership of surgical nurses was 35.49±3.68 points,and the average scores of innovative behavior and voice behavior were 32.53士3.57 points and 26.28±4.37 points respectively.Pearson correlation analysis showed that the inclusive leadership was positively correlated with surgical nurses'innovative behavior(r=0.515,P<0.05),inclusive leadership was positively correlated with surgical nurses'voice behavior(r=0.607,P<0.05),and voice behavior was positively correlated with innovative behavior(r=0.717,P<0.05).Suggestion behavior played a partial mediating role in inclusive leadership and innovative behavior,and the mediating effect accounts for 34.552%of the total effect.Conclusion Inclusive leadership is positively related to the innovative behavior and voice behavior of surgical nurses.Inclusive leadership can stimulate the innovative behavior and voice behavior of surgical nurses.It is recommended that nursing managers adopt the working methods of inclusive leadership to improve the level of voice behavior and innovative behavior of surgical nursing staff.
