Application of mindfulness-based stress reduction combined with Newman nursing model in patients undergoing seed implantation for malignant tumors
Objective To explore the application of mindfulness-based stress reduction theory combined with Newman nursing model in patients undergoing seed implantation for malignant tumors. Methods To select 140 patients who underwent seed implantation for malignant tumors in the hospital from August 2021 to August 2022 as the research subjects, they were divided into an observation group and a control group according to the principle of balanced and comparable baseline data between groups, with 70 cases in each group. The control group used conventional nursing intervention, and the observation group used mindfulness-based stress reduction combined with Newman nursing model intervention. The psychological resilience[Connor-Davidson resilience scale(CD-RISC)],degree of urinary incontinence[international consultation on incontinent questionnaire short form(ICIQ-SF)],postoperative drainage time, gastrointestinal function recovery time, duration of urinary incontinence, hospitalization time, quality of life[European Organization for Research and Treatment of cancer quality of life questionnaire(EORTC QLQ-C30)],and incidence of complications of the two groups of patients were compared. Results After intervention, the CD-RISC score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the each dimension scores of ICIQ-SF in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the postoperative drainage time, gastrointestinal function recovery time, duration of urinary incontinence and hospitalization time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the scores in the functional domain and overall health domain of EORTC QLQ-C30 in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),and the scores in the symptom domain of EORTC QLQ-C30 were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Applying mindfulness-based stress reduction combined with the Newman nursing model in the care of patients undergoing particle implantation for malignant tumors can improve their mental health, reduce urinary incontinence, speed up postoperative recovery, improve their quality of life, and reduce the occurrence of complications.
