Application effect of customized continuous nursing in OSAHS patients treated with non-invasive mechanical ventilation
Objective To explore the application effect of customized continuous nursing in obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)patients treated with non-invasive mechanical ventilation, and to evaluate its impact on self-care ability and quality of life. Methods We selected 100 OSAHS non-invasive mechanical ventilation patients admitted to the hospital from January 2019 to December 2022 as the research subjects, and divided them into a control group and an observation group based on the principle of comparability of baseline data between groups, with 50 cases in each group. The control group received routine extended care, while the observation group received customized extended care.Firstly,a project-specific customized continuing care team was formed to provide homogeneous training to the team members to ensure that all members pass the nursing knowledge and skills assessment. The team members would provide continuous care to the patient at the time of discharge, early stage of discharge, and during and after discharge. The continuous positive airway pressure(CPAP)ventilator usage of the two groups of patients was observed, and the exercise of self-care agency scale(ESCA)and OSAHS patients'quality of life(QOL-OSAHS)scale for adults were used to evaluate the patients'self-care ability and quality of life respectively. Results The total days of CPAP use and daily CPAP use time of patients in the observation group were longer than those of the control group, and the number of days when the ventilator was used for>4 hours was greater than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the each dimension scores of ESCA and QOL-OSAHS scale in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Customized continuous nursing can improve the usage of CPAP ventilator in OSAHS patients, improve patients'self-care ability, relieve psychological anxiety and worries, and promote the improvement of patients'quality of life.
