Current status and influencing factors of interprofessional collaborative practical training in nursing and clinical medicine
Objective To understand the current situation and needs of inter-professional cooperative practical training skills training for students majoring in nursing and clinical medicine in a certain higher medical school in Guangxi,and to provide theoretical reference for future inter-professional education implementation by educators in higher medical schools.Methods We used a self-administered questionnaire to investigate 473 nursing and clinical medicine students in the early and internship stages of a higher medical school in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.And through single factor analysis and multiple linear regression analysis methods,a statistical analysis was conducted on the current situation and needs of cross-professional cooperative practical training skills training for students in the two majors.Results The scores of students majoring in nursing and clinical medicine in mastering comprehensive clinical skills were 3.49±0.46 points and 3.60±0.73 points respectively.There were statistically significant differences between the two in the mastery of basic clinical skills,clinical expertise and comprehensive clinical skills(P<0.05),with the latter being better than the former.The demand score in the early stage of internship was 2.97±0.19 points,and the demand score in the internship period was 4.90±0.30 points.The internship stage was the influencing factor for interprofessional cooperative training skills training in nursing and clinical medicine(P<0.05).Conclusion Students majoring in nursing and clinical medicine had low awareness of inter-professional cooperation.The mastery of basic clinical skills,clinical expertise and comprehensive clinical skills of clinical medicine students were better than those of nursing students.The demand for practical skills training for inter-professional cooperation may have different impacts on students majoring in nursing and clinical medicine.The internship stage was the influencing factor for interprofessional cooperative training skills training in nursing and clinical medicine.Medical schools in higher education should pay attention to inter-professional cooperative practical training skills training system.The cooperative practical training skills training system provides direction for the development of diversified teaching practices.
