Effect of comfort nursing based on individual needs on the psychological state,sleep quality and quality of life of patients with advanced cancer
Objective To explore the effect of comfort nursing based on individual needs on the psychological state,sleep quality and quality of life of patients with advanced cancer.Methods To select 70 patients with advanced cancer admitted to the Oncology Department of Fuzhou First People's Hospital from May 2022 to May 2023 as research subjects,they were divided into a control group and an observation group based on the principle of comparability of basic characteristics between groups,with 35 cases in each group.The control group received routine care;the observation group received comfort care based on individual needs,and both groups received intervention until discharge.The psychological state,attitude towards death,pain conditions,sleep quality and quality of life were compared between the two groups at admission and discharge.Results Before intervention,there was no statistically significant difference in the anxiety scores,depression scores,death attitude scale scores,pain scores,sleep quality scores and quality of life scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After intervention,the depression scale and anxiety scale scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention,the death attitude scale death fear,death avoidance,and escape acceptance scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,and the neutral acceptance scores were higher than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention,the pain score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention,the sleep quality and degree of insomnia scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention,the symptom module of the quality of life scale of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,and the functional module and overall health status scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of comfort care based on the hierarchy of individual needs to patients with advanced cancer can effectively improve patients'depression,anxiety,and attitudes toward death,and reduce patients'fear of death.In addition,it can also effectively relieve patients'pain and insomnia,and improve their sleep quality and living quality.
