Effect of 6S nursing management on preventing perioperative hypothermia in patients undergoing laparoscopic radical resection of rectal cancer
Objective To observe the effect of 6S nursing management on preventing perioperative hypothermia in patients undergoing laparoscopic radical resection of rectal cancer. Methods A total of 78 patients scheduled for laparoscopic radical resection of rectal cancer at Shangrao Dongxin Fifth Hospital from January 2020 to January 2023 were selected.Following the principle of comparability of baseline data between groups, they were divided into a control group and an observation group, with 39 cases each. Both groups were treated with laparoscopic radical resection of rectal cancer. The control group implemented routine nursing care, and the observation group implemented 6S nursing management intervention. The differences in the intraoperative and postoperative recovery, perioperative temperature, comfort before and after intervention, quality of life, and incidence of complications during the intervention were compared between the two groups. Results After 6S nursing management intervention, the time of getting out of bed, time of first anal exhaust, and hospitalization time of patients in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),and there was no statistically significant difference in intraoperative blood loss and operation time between the two groups of patients(P>0.05).The incidence of hypothermia of patients in the observation group was 5.13%,lower than that in the control group, which was 23.08%,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After 6S nursing management intervention, the physical, psychological, and environmental scores of the Chinese version-General Comfort Questionnaire(GCQ)in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),and there was no statistically significant difference in the social-cultural scores between the two groups(P>0.05);the physical function and emotional function scores of the cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire(QLQ-C30)in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),and there was no statistically significant difference in the role function, cognitive function and social function scores between the two groups(P>0.05).The overall incidence of complications such as shivering, arrhythmia, fever, wound infection, and postoperative agitation in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion 6S management can improve the intraoperative and postoperative temperature of patients undergoing laparoscopic radical resection of rectal cancer, prevent perioperative hypothermia, reduce the incidence of hypothermia, shorten the length of hospital stay, enhance patients'physical, psychological, and environmental comfort, and increase scores in dimensions of physical function and emotional function.
