Current status of presenteeism among ICU nurses and its influencing factors
Objective To investigate the status quo of presenteeism among ICU nurses in hospitals in various levels of hospitals in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and analyze its influencing factors.Methods In total,ICU nurses from 40 hospitals in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region were selected as the survey subjects in February 2023.A questionnaire survey was conducted using a general information questionnaire,Chinese Nurse Stressors Scale,and the Chinese version of the Stanford Presenteeism Scale.Results A total of 390 ICU nurses were included in this study.The job stress score of ICU nurses was 99.17±19.01 points,with moderate and severe stress accounting for 59.49%and 33.59%respectively.The presenteeism score was 17.33±4.50 points,with 57.69%of participants categorized as having high presenteeism.Pearson correlation analysis showed that the work stress was positive correlation with presenteeism(r=0.480,P<0.001).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the perceived health status,job satisfaction,working environment and equipment,management and interpersonal relationships were factors influencing presenteeism among ICU nurses(P<0.05).Conclusion The work stress and presenteeism of ICU nurses in hospitals at all levels in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region are at an above-average level.Perceived health status,job satisfaction,working environment and equipment,management and interpersonal relationships are factors influencing presenteeism among ICU nurses.Nursing managers should pay attention to the presenteeism status of ICU nurses,dynamically improve departmental environments,promptly adjust management methods,and promote communication and collaboration between doctors and nurses.They should also focus on enhancing ICU nurses'awareness of their perceived health status,increasing nurses'professional identity and job satisfaction,so as to reduce the occurrence of presenteeism.
