Effects of continued care on self-care ability and life quality of nasopharyngeal cancer patients discharged from radiotherapy base on WeChat platform
Objective To explore the effect of continuous nursing based on WeChat platform on the self-care ability and quality of life of patients discharged from the first radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal cancer.Methods 122 patients discharged from the first radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal cancer in the radiotherapy department of a Class Ⅲ Grade A oncology hospital from August 2021 to December 2022 were selected and divided into a control group and an observation group,with 61 cases in each group according to the principle of the basic information between the groups is comparable.The control group received routine discharge guidance,and the observation group received continuous care on the basis of routine discharge guidance base on the WeChat platform.The scores of quality of life and self-care ability were compared between the two groups.Results At the time of discharge,1 month after discharge,and 3 months after discharge,the total score of the quality of life scale and the scores of each dimension showed an increasing trend(P<0.05).At each time point,except for the social/family status dimension,the other dimensions and the total score were higher in the observation group than in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),and with the prolongation of the observation time,the difference between the groups except for the emotion and headneck module dimension gradually increased,physical condition,social/family condition,function coindition dimention and the total score showed a increase trend and then decrease(P<0.05).At the time of discharge,1 month after discharge,and 3 months after discharge,the total score of the self-care ability scale and the scores of each dimension showed a gradual increase trend(P<0.05);the total score of the self-care ability scale and the scores of each dimension at each time point were higher in the observation group than in the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05),the difference of the self responsibility level between groups was the highest,and then decrease gradually(P<0.05),self-concept,self care ability,health knowledge level and total score'showed a trend of increase and then decrease(P<0.05).Conclusion Continued nursing intervention on the WeChat platform for patients discharged from the first radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal cancer can significantly improve the patient's self-care ability and quality of life,which is conducive to promoting the patient's timely recovery.
