The role of guided interactive additive education model combined with typical case teaching in teaching of clinical otorhinolaryngology nursing students
Objective To explore the application effect of guided interactive additive education model combined with typical case teaching in teaching of otorhinolaryngology nursing students. Methods Thirty nursing students in the hospital from July 2021 to April 2022 were selected as the control group, while another 30 nursing students from July 2022 to April 2023 were set as the observation group. The typical case teaching was used in the control group, while guided interactive additive education model combined with typical case teaching was used in the observation group. All nursing students studied for 4 weeks. The differences of assessment scores and satisfaction with the teaching were compared between the two groups of nursing students.Additionally,Crirical Thinking Disposition Inventory-Chinese Version(CTDI-CV)was used to evaluate the critical thinking ability of nursing students before and after teaching. The Active Learning Scale(ALS)was used to assess the learning initiative, and the self-made Core Competency Scale was used to determine the core competence of the students. Results Before the internship, there was no statistically significant difference in operational skills and theoretical scores,CTDI-CV scores,ALS scores and core competency scores between the two groups of nursing students(P>0.05).After the internship, the operational skills and theoretical scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The each dimension scores of CTDI-CV in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The each dimension scores of ALS in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The core competency score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The teaching satisfaction score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion On the basis of typical case teaching, the introduction of guided interactive additive education model can further enhance the comprehensive abilities of nursing students in clinical otorhinolaryngology nursing teaching, including assessment scores, ability to handle difficult problems, core competencies, and learning initiative. This ensures a good training effect, and highlights the high comprehensive application value of the teaching model.
