Application of body surface warming quilt in elderly patients undergoing percutaneous nephrolithotomy
Objective To develop a body surface warming quilt and observe its application effect in perioperative period of elderly patients undergoing percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Methods A total of 100 elderly patients undergoing percutaneous nephrolithotomy in the hospital from July 2021 to December 2022 were selected.According to the principle of comparability in basic characteristics between groups, they were divided into a control group and an observation group with 50 cases each. The control group implemented routine intraoperative warming care, while the observation group,on the basis of the routine intraoperative warming care, used a self-made surface warming quilt to maintain the body temperature of elderly patients undergoing percutaneous nephrolithotomy. The goal was to maintain the patients'body temperature at 36.5±0.5℃.The differences in the body temperature, anesthesia recovery time, and extubation time at various time points during the perioperative period,as well as the occurrence of postoperative complications such as restlessness, shivering, and arrhythmias between the two groups of patients were compared.Serum lactate levels at different time points during the perioperative period were measured, and the Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation(APACHE-Ⅱ)scores and satisfaction of parents were analyzed for both groups of patients. Results The perioperative body temperature of patients in the observation group was better than that of the control group due to continuous warming, the anesthesia recovery time and extubation time of patients in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of postoperative complications of patients in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The serum lactate levels at various time points in the observation group were lower than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The satisfaction of patients in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of the self-made surgical surface warming quilt for continuous warming during the perioperative period of elderly patients undergoing percutaneous nephrolithotomy under general anesthesia can shorten the patient's general anesthesia recovery time and extubation time, reduce the incidence of complications, improve the arterial serum lactate index of patients, reduce their APACHE-Ⅱ scores, and improve the patients'satisfaction.
