Effect evaluation of the cardiac rhythm identification for simple people in teaching electrocardiography to junior nurses
Objective To explore the application effect of the cardiac rhythm identification for simple people(CRISP)in teaching electrocardiography to junior nurses and its impact on their ability to recognize malignant arrhythmias such as ventricular tachycardia,3° atrioventricular block, and sinus arrest. Methods A total of 95 nursing staff who participated in the hospital's new nurse capacity enhancement course in June 2023 were selected as the research subjects. All participants were nurses who had joined the hospital within 1 year and were working in the front line of clinical departments. They were divided into two groups based on their student numbers. The odd-numbered class was the control group with 48 people, and the even-numbered class was the observation group with 47 people. The control group implemented traditional face-to-face electrocardiogram teaching, while the observation group implemented electrocardiogram teaching using the CRISP method. The assessment and questionnaire surveys were conducted on the teaching subjects of the two groups after the course to compare the teaching effects between the two groups of nursing staff. Results Before the course, there was no statistically significant difference in the average scores of electrocardiogram interpretation between the two groups(P>0.05).After the course, the average score of electrocardiogram interpretation in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the course, the correct identification rates of ventricular tachycardia,3° atrioventricular block, and sinus arrest were higher of nursing staff in the observation group than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The results of the questionnaire survey showed that the observation group scored higher than the control group in terms of improving electrocardiogram interpretation skills, increasing motivation and enthusiasm for learning electrocardiogram, satisfaction with the teaching mode, and satisfaction with the teaching effect, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of CRISP method in teaching electrocardiography has a positive effect. It can effectively enhance the ability of junior nursing staff to recognize malignant arrhythmias such as ventricular tachycardia,3° AV Block and sinus arrest on electrocardiograms. This contributes to improving the professional competence of nursing staff.
