Investigation and analysis of the status of acquired helplessness and the influencing factors in postoperative patients with oral cancer
Objective To investigate and analyze the status of acquired helplessness and the influencing factors in postoperative patients with oral cancer. Methods 216 postoperative patients with oral cancer who visited the Second People's Hospital of Shenzhen from February 2021 to April 2023 were selected as the survey subjects, they were investigated by using the general information questionnaire, the Learned Helplessness Scale(LHS),the Simple Coping Style Questionnaire(SCSQ),and the Family APGAR Index(FAI)questionnaire. Results The score of acquired helplessness in postoperative patients with oral cancer was 63.93±8.33 points, and the average score of the entries was 3.55±0.46 points.Univariate analysis showed that there was a statistically significant difference in the score of acquired helplessness in postoperative patients with oral cancer of different educational levels, family per capita monthly income, and pathological stage(P<0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that acquired helplessness in postoperative patients with oral cancer was negatively correlated with positive coping and family care(P<0.05),and positively correlated with negative coping(P<0.05);Multiple linear regression analysis showed that educational level, pathological stage, negative coping, and family care were the influencing factors of acquired helplessness, and 53.4%of the total variation could be predicted(F=57.373,P=0.000;R2=0.543,adjusted R2=0.534).Conclusion The level of acquired helplessness is high in postoperative patients with oral cancer.Education, pathological staging, negative coping, and family care were the influencing factors of acquired helplessness.Physicians and nurses should pay attention to screening and early identification of patients with oral cancer with high acquired helplessness, pay attention to nursing interventions for patients with low education and high pathological staging, and focus on reducing patients'negative coping level and improving patients'family care,so as to reduce the patients acquired helplessness level.
