Objective To investigate and analyze the oral health status and influencing factors of elderly hospitalized patients.Methods A face-to-face questionnaire survey was conducted on 214 elderly hospitalized patients from June to December 2022 using the General Information Questionnaire,Oral Health Impact Scale,and Oral Health Assessment Scale.According to the Andersen oral health outcome model and correlation analysis results,AMOS software was used to conduct pathway analysis of factors affecting oral health-related quality of life.Results The score of the Oral Health Impact Scale for the elderly was 10.19±5.96 points,the score of the Oral Self-care Efficacy Scale was 56.41±9.49 points,and the score of the Oral Health Assessment Scale was 3.22±1.02 points.Oral self-care efficacy had direct and indirect effects on oral health quality of life,with a direct effect value of-0.21 and an indirect effect value of-0.023.The direct effect value of the number of existing teeth on oral health-related quality of life was-0.26,and the indirect effect value was-0.076.Conclusion The influencing factors of OHRQoL in elderly hospitalized patients were complex,but had certain logic.When conducting health education,nurses should improve patients'oral health cognition and health beliefs to correct bad oral behavior habits;secondly,they should pay attention to the oral health status of the elderly,help them establish correct concepts such as timely medical treatment,reduce oral problems and thus improve oral health-related quality of life.
