Objective To investigate and analyze the current status of experiential avoidance in colorectal cancer patients and its influencing factors.Methods A total of 328 colorectal cancer patients treated at a tertiary grade A hospital in Guangzhou from April 2021 to February 2023 were selected as the survey subjects.The general information questionnaire,the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-II,Psychological Resilience Scale,and Social Support Rating Scale were used for investigation.Multivariate analysis was performed to analyze the influencing factors of experiential avoidance in colorectal cancer patients.Results In total,328 questionnaires were distributed,and 297 valid responses were collected,with an effective rate of 90.55%.The experiential avoidance score among colorectal cancer patients was 30.63±5.67 points.Univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in experiential avoidance scores across five items:gender,education level,average monthly household income,stoma status,and pathological stage(P<0.05).Correlation analysis showed that the psychological resilience and social support were negatively correlated with experiential avoidance(P<0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that the gender,education level,whether there was a stoma,the total score of psychological resilience,and the total score of social support were influencing factors of experiential avoidance(P<0.05).Conclusion The current status of experiential avoidance among colorectal cancer patients needs improvements.Gender,education level,whether there was a stoma,the total score of psychological resilience,and the total score of social support were influencing factors of experiential avoidance.Medical personnel should strengthen assessments of experiential avoidance levels in colorectal cancer patients,focus particularly on female patients,those with low education levels,and patients with stomas,and improve patients'psychological resilience and social support levels,thereby reducing their experiential avoidance levels.
